i would have updated you last night at 2.30am, but i was holding jasper in my arms.
not good here. bags under my eyes competing with vuitton's steamer cases.
i took jasper into bed with me because he was screaming and waking the other three up. he was coughing and wailing. and that burbling sound was so deep in his chest, it sounded like a cyclone filled with chairs, pieces of fences and the occasional livestock fighting to break out of a closet.
so i propped him up on charles' side of the bed, and he was restless. cough cough cough he went, pat pat pat when my hand on his thomas the tank engine flannel jammies. i would start dozing off, and he would jerk awake with a coughing fit. at one point, i lost my grip on him and caught his thigh as he was readying to slide off the bed.
but there was a really bright spot in my day. sebastian and some of his friends were together talking about movies, toy story, peter pan and then someone mentioned the incredibles. they were talking who they would be in the movies. buzz, mr incredible, nemo, and what they would call their movies. and sebastian looked up and declared said, "my movie would be called the best mummy ever." and then he grinned one of those side to side sebbie smiles, and put his little hand in mine.
i felt like an idiot using the edge of a pizza box to wipe my eyes, but i did it anyway. must be the lack of sleep making me emotional.
someone's coughing and i have to go.
Seb's movie comment was truly priceless and came when you most needed a lift. God bless you, sweetheart, as you struggle on in the land of little coughing bodies and noses that resemble rivers during flood season. As I said yesterday - how I wish I were there to HELP.
Much love and prayer, M xox

Tess, remember that it is ok to lean on people in this time of need. You need to sleep also and make sure that you dont get sick while you are fending for self. A sick Mommy wont be good for sick kiddies , let alone your not looking your best for your movie role would not be good now would it?
Seb rocks is all I can say, he is such a little sweetheart.

Oh Tess, don't be afraid to ask for help! I know, it's easy to say, but we mommies have to take care of ourselves!

Tess, don't hesitate to have him checked out to see what could be done to make him more comfortable. Its tough when they're unwell...no one rests. I sometimes play in the bathroom on the floor after I "steam" it up (run a hot shower) and then I toss in a bit of wintergreen oil or a lump of Vicks to make the steamy room good for the lungs. Good Luck and know that after the first couple of days, it does get better.

So sorry - sending you all "Get well SOON!" best wishes and prayers.
Sebastian sounds so sweet! What a lovely expression of his love.
Our gang are very good at "I love you" drawings and notes. I will be very sorry when this demonstrative stage comes to an end, as I suppose it will some day.
Today my son wrote me a little note with his brand-new mini notepad, to say "To Mummy, I love you, love Robbie." He found my music book bag and paperclipped it onto the pocket, so I would see it when I went out to our choir concert this afternoon. It certainly brought smiles to my face! (And our Christmas concert was quite a success. It's so much fun to sing the music of the season.)
Best wishes,
