on sunday charles and i went to different sermons. both speakers were fantastic, but i had been tipped off that the 9.30 speaker was a real "John the Baptist" type of speaker, and knowing my fondness for JTB, that was enough to get me and the kids out the door at 9.10am.
charles followed at 11am, for another super speaker. i slipped away with the kids and we headed to hong kong park. we planned to meet with charles at around 1am, so we had two hours to play around. the kids slid and played on the sand diggers for a few minutes, allowed me to take their pictures in a few lovely poses and then demanded....WE WANT THE CIRCULAR WATERFALL!!! and off we headed. i had the forethought to bring a camera and towels this time.
it was just as much fun. i am so grateful that no one has slipped/fallen/broken their crowns/ gotten stitches because that's the sort of thing my kids seem to be GOOD at...but so far, all's well.
they raced around and shrieked and took off shirts and circled and made funny poses and laughed, and passersby laughed with and at them. they were soaking wet and they played for over 45 minutes. then the sun hid and they got chilly, i brought out the towels and as before, we walked 100 meters or so and i bought them lollies, water and a packet of "CHIPPIES!" and i waited in the sunshine, drinking water and laughing at my kids.
they finished their little snack and pleaded with me for more. a few weeks ago, the girls found the chippies too spicy, but they have obviously expanded their palates (they obviously have sophisticated tastes) since that time. charles hadn't called, the chips were $6hkd, how could i NOT buy more? i bought two more packets and watched, predictably, as sebastian kicked over the boys' drink and jasper recoiled in horror, thus knocking over the girls' drinks. back to stand for more water. stand operator much amused.
charles called and we walked up steps to find him. found him. headed home. we packed, he took them to the ABC for dinner and i continued packing and cleaning. there is an enormous amount to do in the flat before we move, but what else are sunny sundays for than watching your kids smiling and delighted ??? definitely more interesting than a packing box, anyday.
thank you to magchar for the photos.
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Looks like the kids had a great time in the waterfall. When do you do the big "move"?

Those pics and your rendition of the day at the Fountain are just great, honey. Loved every bit of both. Such fun and joy!
Hang in with all the work involved with moving - ugh. Sure wish I could be there to help.

Brilliant! I can really quite literally imagine being there with you. Our "Sunday in the Fountain" was a "Saturday at the Beach" with umbrellas and gumboots (which ended up acting more like anchors than protective footwear!). Unfortunately, though I did pack a complete set of clean clothes and underwear for each child, I didn't pack the camera. Next time. Dxx

I reviewed all the pictures and suddenly realized what the issue was. Obviously you don't have shower facilities at your new living quarters. Not to worry. Next month we will be living on the shores of lake Okanagan.
Love to all.....Dad

LOVED the photos, totally loved them and also, because you shot them at high speed, the water "curtain" from far, looks like a curtain made of water beads. Very pretty and indeed, a wonderful way to kill time waiting for Charles.
